Rainbow Vibes

Happy LGBT Pride Month! This month is all about the celebration of individuality, gay rights and how far those rights have come (and how far they have not), remembrance of those who have fought for equal rights in the past, keeping it 100 by being your true self and the freedom to love who you want to love. Whether you are off to a pride picnic, parade, party, or hey, you just want to add some color to your wardrobe, I think you’ll like my rainbow vibe pics below. I sure like ’em—I’m excited to add a few of these to my closet! Ooh, also, keep scrolling past my pics to view a few of my favorite pride blog posts floating around the internet. Some real goodies out there, y’all. <3

Cowgirl Up

I just got back from my trip to Palm Springs for Alt Summit. I’m working on a post to fill you in on all the amazing things that happened while I was there so stay tuned. In the meantime, though, I wanted to share some cowgirl vibes with you. I don’t know if it was the desert or the crazy number of cool hats that were floating around the conference perched above very fashionable heads or THE FACT THAT I AM GOING TO AUSTIN FOR SXSW NEXT WEEK! I mean, the fashion that was on display there was incredible. I still can’t get over a cool gal I met (hi!) who was wearing the most amazing shirt that had cats on the collar. Even the description doesn’t do it justice. I need this shirt in my life. Anyhoo, I was inspired to wrangle up (GET IT?!) some of my favorite cowgirl attire. I hope it inspires you to do a bit of yeehaw-ing yourself. xo Continue Reading

Alt Summit, Here I Come!

Y’all! I am so excited. I am headed to Palm Springs tomorrow morning for a blogging conference called Alt Summit. I’ve never been to Palm Springs, but it has been on my list for YEARS. I’ve also always wanted to stay at the colorful Saguaro Hotel. I don’t actually get to do that this trip since I was on the waitlist for the conference and by the time I got in, the hotel was booked. BUUUUT I do get to enjoy it since the conference is hosted there. Plus, I get to experience another amazing hotel a mile down the street—the V Palm Springs.

I am beyond thrilled to just get weird with other like-minded bloggers and brands. Wayfair will be there, as well as La Croix (Club Pamplemousse for life!), Alaska Airlines (another fave), Lowe’s (sadly no relation), WordPress.com, ShopStyle, Day Owl Rosé, Sherwin Williams, ShareAsale and so many others! I’m actually going on a dreamy tour around town tomorrow of some of the most instagramable spots in Palm Springs, sponsored by JOANN. I mean, come on. Is this real life??! Continue Reading

Birthday Wish List

My birthday is in nine days. Do you know how I know this? Because it’s on my driver’s license. But also because the cheerful customer service guy who helped me cancel my health insurance over the phone (I’m joining my contract company’s plan) told me so. This is the difference between me turning 37 and me turning 26. As an almost 37-year-old, I proactively called to cancel my insurance so I wouldn’t have to pay double premiums. As an almost 26-year-old, I got a tattoo of a mustache on my finger from Bubba at Elm Street Tattoo in Dallas after having a shot of Tequila at Reno’s Chop Shop Saloon down the street. Pretty happy about both of these decisions. Annnyhoo, while perusing one of my favorite SERIOUSLY FUN online shops—BAN.DO—I realized I needed a lot of SERIOUSLY FUN stuff & things in my 37th year of life. I thought I’d create a post of my current favorites and send them to my boyfriend share them with y’all. Take a look and let me know your favorites in the comments! (It’s the roller skates, I just know it.) Continue Reading

How to Help Houston

It’s been a heartbreaking past few days watching the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Houston is very close to my heart. I love the city—and the people and animals who live in it—very much. Most of the tears I have shed have been out of heartbreak, but some recent ones have come from hope. It has helped my heart watching people helping people. This is why I love Houston. This is why I love Texas. I’ve also come across some really nice love letters to Houston.

It’s frustrating not being there to help, but I’m hoping this small blog post does something. Below is a list of organizations where you can donate your time, money and household items. Keep scrolling for links to other helpful lists. To my Houston friend fam, you know I love you. Hang in there. #HoustonStrong Continue Reading
