New sweetgreen Location on the Drag!

Wanna get $7 from sweetgreen and give me $7 from sweetgreen? M’okay! Use this link to download the fancy sweetgreen app and you’ll get a $7 credit to spend on your first delicious order at sweetgreen. *squeal!*

Okay, so I have to say first – this post is not sponsored. I am just truly in love with sweetgreen and everything about them. No seriously, as I type this, there is a sweetgreen bag (made from 100% recycled material:) staring at me on the kitchen counter. Scotty and I fell in love with them when we lived in Culver City in Los Angeles and were so overjoyed when they opened a location on South Congress here in Austin. Everything is so healthy and delicious, and their menu actually varies a bit at every location because they source from local farmers. So cool, right?! We have since been ordering from them almost every night. (Unfortunately, I am not that person who used quarantine to sharpen their cooking skills.)

Thankfully for our health and waistlines, the incredible salads, warm bowls and plates at sweetgreen have been our go-to choice for dinner… instead of pizza and breadsticks. And now, Scotty and I (and you!) have another sweetgreen location to order from!

Stop by today to see their new digs at 2234 Guadalupe. (The Veggie Caesar is my go-to and Scotty loves the Buffalo Chicken and Crispy Rice.) The 3,100 square foot location features art by the incredibly talented Will Bryant (seriously go check him out), stadium-style seating and a walk-up window.

For every meal sold on opening day, sweetgreen will donate a meal via their Impact Outpost program to Brighter Bites in Travis County, an organization providing free fresh produce and nutrition education to food-insecure children and families. They’re also donating meals to Austin Justice Coalition, an amazing local org whose mission is to educate and build community power for people of color in Austin. But wait – there’s more: If you’re one of the first 100 people to order online or through the app during their first 4 days open, you could win a cute tote or another fun giveaway from Easy Tiger and YAYAYA. Oh and the app? Y’all better download it. You can use it to easily order meals, earn credits toward more yummy meals and climb their status ladder to get free swag and exclusive experiences like menu tastings and events. (FUN!)

Covid-wise, they are opening in compliance with social distancing guidelines plus following additional safety standards that include mandatory face masks, elevated sanitation schedules and dedicated concierges to ensure safety compliance.

Gah, I just love them (and their Veggie Caesar salad) so much. Welcome to Austin (again), sweetgreen.

How to Survive Whole30

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed from time to time I put myself through absolute hell set out to do something really healthy for my body and mind, and partake in the Whole30 Challenge. In a nutshell (yes, you can eat nuts), the Whole30 is a 30-day reset where you replace sugar, grains, legumes, dairy and booze with whole foods like vegetables, fruit, meat and seafood. Did I lose you at no booze? I get it, and yep, no wine, beer or liquor for 30 days. You will live, I promise. Is it hard? Yes. Is it totally doable and will you feel like a champion afterward? Oh hellllll yes. Check out my tips and let me know if you have some of your own to share in the comments below! Continue Reading
